Golden Blogbreros

June 17, 2010 - This was our first game against the Sombreros of the season. This was a nail bitter from start to finish. We battled back and forth every inning. We got a hold of the lead by 3 runs going in the bottom of the last, and we had to go to our bread and butter to win the game, DEFENSE. We squeaked out a 10-9 win. This seemed like a coming out party for Aflie, who batted 1.0 and drove in 3 ribs.

I am almost caught up.....more to recaps to come. pictures and videos will be coming too!! but i might have to blur some ugly faces.

Birman and blogs

June 10, 2010 - after our one hour break.....we played Ari and Friends. Tough Game...cause we couldn't mustard any offence. We hit a paltry .382 as a team with FOUR justice players hitting .000’s (not Des though). This must be a record low for us, and scoring a total of 8 runs. A far cry from the 18 run average we set for ourselves. A bright spot was Ryan who hit perfect. We did mount a comeback in the last inning to make the score respectable, but in reality...it was terrible. This is a game I have already forgotten.
Result 14-8 lost for Justice

Hit Blog-xs

Yet another Asian teams showdown on June 10 , with another interesting twist. A former Justice player was now on the opposing team. The Hit Stix is a new team to the league, and we wanted to make quick work of them. We took advantage of pitcher Jack Swagger. The top half of our lineup (minus Des) were able to sustain an offensive rhythm and score 3-5 runs each inning. Our top 5 hitters (minus Des) hit an average of .783 , 15 hits, 9 rbi’s, and 2 HR!!! Not too shabby....i guess this is why they are on top (minus Des).

Not much to I can remember about this game...maybe it’s just cause I didn’t play enough memory board games as a child and I now suffer from partial amnesia. I sometimes forget that Enoch is in his 20’s, but that might not be a memory problem. I am sure there were a couple of double plays and a drop ball in the outfield (probably not Des though).

Result: 20-7 for Justice ....good thing there was no panda’s that showed up to the game.

DraBLOGings.......

It’s time to test my long term memory....one our goals is to reign supreme over the Asian teams (Yes it was a goal). And our first opportunity came June 3, 2010 against the Dragons. An interesting match up as some of there players we compete regularly against in SNSP. This game was played a delayed double header at Milliken, meaning we had a one hour break between our first game. These breaks are killer for the body. You are all warmed up and playing game one and then stone cold after an hour.

Game started off slow as usual for us. We couldn’t get the bats going and sustain a rally. But our defense kept us in the game and we were able to drop 2 to 4 runs each inning.

Start of 7th inning:

The Co-ed King: Should we take it easy on them now?

Me: No. We’re sandbaggers.

The top of 7 rolls around the best offensive breakthrough was made. For the first time this year were batted around the lineup and drop 12 runs, blowing the game wide open.
Result : 27-4 for Justice

highlights:
Shummalumm hitting perfect with 4 ribbies.
.600 team avg..hopefully that will continue to rise.

How’s my memory...things are kind of vague, but I will have pictures that are stuck in the camera that will be uploaded. Maybe I should start making up plays and convince myself that it happened, but some of it may be inconceivable. For instance: I vaguely recall a at bat by Hank who crushed an opposite field home run OVER the construction fence at Milliken.

A Challenge is Issued......and Accepted..Woo!

Alfie "Wooo!" Lo thinks this game is too easy...

So a challenge was issued to the Co-ed King.....

Only time will tell. I think the punishment should be a little different...I'm thinking for every out the team gets to do this....

SNSP Season Opener vs. Jedi Knights

Game Recap: Justice vs. Jedi Knights The game was played in the heart of scarboro's Thomson's Park. We welcome two new players to the team, but only one ringer was able to show up today, Hung Ling. To put as much pressure as we can, she was slotted to bat second and it resulted in a walk to start us off on the right foot. We are still anticipating the debut of J. Quan (no pressure). With the absense of J.Quan, we called in Biggie Li to carry the offensive load. Everyone else came ready to play to defend our Championship. Sitting on the bench in all black, and those bright red sunglasses... The games was a back and forth affair, with us starting the game with 4 runs in the top half. Jedi Knights was able to answer back with runs over the next three innings to keep it close. Ryan "Co-ed King" Ng hits a solo shot to keep us in front by 5 in the top of 4th. In the bottom of the fifth we had a defensive meltdown which allowed a mercy of 5 runs to tie the game. But that didn't affect us mentally and we dropped a 5 run mercy right back in the second last inning. That was enough to seal the game as it ended at the top of the 7th due to time limit right after Sealy smacks a triple. Highlights: Krystal hits a linedrive up the middle for a solid single. Then..... Chris gets a HR and almost catches up to the Krystal. I think you can hear him yelling as he rounds third to run faster....lol.

Jeff "TamWOW" Tam gets on first by CONSTANTLY picking on the first baseman.

The "Cheater" Bats

This game also marked the debut of the "cheater" bats. This year we are allowed to use NSA bats. During pre-season hitting sessions, we managed to crack the Freak plus and Freak LE. The Freak Plus made its debut at the game. Liquid Paper must be jealous.

Justice Vs. Red Rose Legends Game 2

Game 2 Recap:

The game didn't start off as we hoped. Coming off a first game victory, there was a sense of false confidence and we ended up trailing the game by about 3 runs until the bottom of the 6th. We were able to put up runs but the Legends were keeping one step ahead of us with the bats. As the game drew near to the end, enough was enough. Alfie had one too many drinks and his alter ego came out to the give us a boost of energy. It wasn't Bruce Banner....but it was the styling and profiling of The Nature Boy Ric Flair...WOOO!!!! I believe all of Newmarket heard the WOO's of alfie.

With a good lift in spirits, it was time to mount our comeback. Second last inning and down by three. We started a rally with two outs to tie the game. Now with runners on first and second and FC king himself, Ryan, is up. Works the count full, and he jacks it out to put us up by three and end the inning with a mercy. We hold the top of 7th and walk away with a nice win. WOOOOO!!!!

Result: Justice 20 - Red Rose Legends 17

Player of the Game: Ryan Ng for batting batting perfect in both games and smashing the game winner with the "cheater" bat.

Justice Vs. Red Rose Legends Game 1

Game One Recap: Great night to play a game, but too bad it was all the way up at Art Ferguson. Things started off well as we were able to drop 4 runs in the first and mercy two more innings. It was a good offence team effort as we were able to hit station for station and it also included a three run bomb by Biggie Li. Defensively sound, except for Derek getting burned twice and was self-demoted to catcher. Also an inadvertent ball to the back of the head of a Red Rose Legend running past first base. Thank goodness he was able to shake it off like a champ. Result: Justice 18 - Red Rose Legends 3 Shumster

Sorry Pitch!

Probably the best player in the American League Joe Mauer got himself into a funny play last night in a double header against the Yankees.

I hope to never see this in a Justice softball game but nevertheless entertaining to see it happen to the ever so hated Yankees.

Softball Win?

At least we didn't win because of this.....

This brings back memories.....we need some of that Griffey brain power juice.

A Look Back at SNSP

Here is a 2008 photo. Most of the team is still playing for the upcoming title defense, but there are a couple of changes for 2010.
